Woman killed, two others hurt in shooting, crash outside Anderson night club

ANDERSON, Ind. (WISH) — A woman died and two others were hurt after a shooting and crash that broke out at an Anderson night club early Sunday morning.

The woman was identified by the Marion County coroner on Monday as Dayla Swain, 26.

According to the Anderson Police Department, the incident happened around 3 a.m. Sunday. Officers were dispatched to Sonny Ray’s at 1536 S. Madison Ave. in Anderson to investigate a shooting.

When they arrived, they learned shots were fired outside the business, striking at least two women. A third women, according to police, was hit by a vehicle during the shooting aftermath.

One woman, identified as Swain, was found lying in the roadway, while the other was located in front of a nearby home. Swain was rushed to an Indianapolis hospital for treatment, but later died.

The other shooting victim was taken to a local hospital. Anderson PD adds that the woman hit by a car checked herself into a nearby hospital for treatment.

No arrests have been made. Anderson police say they will release further details once available.
