Woman hospitalized after being hit by IndyGo bus

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A woman is in the hospital after she was hit by an IndyGo bus at intersection of Vermont Street and Indiana Avenue in downtown Indianapolis, police said.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called around 7 a.m. to a report of a pedestrian hit near the Canal Overlook apartments, just south of the Madam Walker Legacy Center.

The woman was stable when transported to a hospital, IMPD confirmed to News 8.

Police did not share any details about the woman or the extent of her injuries.

IMPD says an IndyGo supervisor is at the scene.

The intersection of Vermont and Indiana will remain open during investigation and cleanup.
