Marcus’ 6pm Saturday forecast
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH – Heavy rain will quickly change over to snow overnight.
A winter weather advisory will go into effect from midnight to 1 PM on Sunday for the northern half of the state.
Right now we expect around one to 2 inches around the Indianapolis Metro area with the potential of 2 to 4 inches in east-central and northeast Indiana through Sunday late morning.

Showers will fill back in over much of central Indiana this evening and late tonight. Rainfall could be heavy at times, and the potential for some flooding issues still exists in southern portions of the state where we’ve already received heavy rain, and an additional 2+ inches of rainfall could be possible before we change over to snow overnight.

Temperatures will hold relatively steady into the mid-30s through midnight.

Rain will change over to all snow showers during the overnight hours. Snow will likely be widespread across the state and could be moderate to heavy at times a few hours before daybreak. Travel could be a little slick for many locations. Through mid-morning. Snow looks to taper off pretty quickly by around eight or 9 o’clock in the morning on Sunday.

The rest of the day will be left with cloudy conditions with gusty winds. Temperatures will be hovering into the 20s by the afternoon, and wind chills will likely be into the teens for much of the day.

The big story for next week will be the bitter cold temperature settling in. Another surge of Arctic air will again invade starting on Monday. Wake-up temperatures for the holiday will be into the single digits, and wind chills will likely be subzero. Highs for much of this upcoming week will struggle to get out of the upper teens. A couple of isolated snow chances are coming our way late Tuesday night and again heading into Wednesday.
