INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Here is a look at Friday’s business headlines with Jane King, where she discusses Igloo’s cooler handle recall and Waffle House’s candlelight Valentine’s Day dinners.
Igloo rolls out cooler recall
Igloo is issuing a recall of more than 1 million of its 90-quart flip and tow rolling coolers because of at least a dozen reports of fingertip injuries, bone fractures, lacerations, and even fingertip amputations!
That’s because the tow handle can pinch your fingertips against the cooler causing them to get crushed, or worse.
If you think you may have one, stop using it and contact igloo for a replacement handle.
Denny’s to shutter another 30 locations
Denny’s is closing about 30 more restaurants than previously announced as part of the struggling diner chain’s plans to jumpstart growth.
The additional closures come after Denny’s announced last year it was shutting the doors for 150 locations.
Denny’s said some of the diners closing were selected because they have expiring leases, have been open for more than 30 years — making them too expensive to remodel — or are in areas that have become unprofitable.
Average annual date spending is over $2000
The average American adult 18-years or older, whether currently in a relationship or not, spends $2,279 on dates every year and estimates the “all-in” price of a date – from pre-date grooming to gas money – is nearly $168.
That’s according to a survey by BMO Capital Markets.
Forty-four percent of uncoupled Americans believe that their net worth affects their dating prospects.
Waffle House offers candlelight dinners
Dare to be different and impress your sweetheart with a romantic meal at Waffle House.
The breakfast chain is taking reservations at select locations nationwide for Valentine’s Day, where they’ll dim the lights, break out the tablecloths and candles, and offer up some special menu items.
For those in Indiana, you can take your special someone to the Waffle Houses in Plainfield or Jeffersonville.
Waffle House is open 365 days a year for the public, but today is the only day it’s taking reservations.
Bink water bottles gain popularity
Water bottles from Bink are trending in 2025, potentially replacing Stanleys and Owalas.
The brand’s most popular bottle, which holds 27 ounces, is made of glass and covered with silicone.
Bink’s popularity is being fueled by TikTok, and its products largely appeal to women.
