What to buy in May, according to Consumer Reports

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — May is bursting with deals, and not just because of Mother’s Day or Memorial Day. With prices still fluctuating on everything from tech to household goods, now’s a smart time to shop around and stretch your dollars a little further.

Consumer Reports has rounded up some of the best discounts on top-rated products, and we’ve broken down where to find them.

Mother’s Day tech gifts

Retailers are offering up big markdowns on gifts that moms will love, including jewelry, beauty buys, and tech gear. Fitness trackers and Bluetooth speakers are trending, and the Sony portable Bluetooth speaker is one of the standouts this month. It’s on sale at both Walmart and Best Buy.

CR points to a deal on the queen-size Essentia organic mattress, which is currently marked down on the company’s website. Their testers say the eco-friendly latex foam offers excellent support for back sleepers and solid comfort for side sleepers. It’s a great excuse to treat Mom to better rest.
