Two women found dead in Lafayette apartment, police investigate as homicide

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WISH) — Two women were found dead inside of an apartment, which investigators “do not believe this was a random act.”

Lafayette Police Department was called Mar. 1, around 7:30 a.m., at the Village Square Apartments at 107 Cochise Trail. Police found two dead women inside of the apartment.

The women were identified as Laportia Shenett, 34, and Kadeisha Ross, 28. Their relationship is not clear to police.

LPD said they found shell casings and a small-caliber gun at the scene.

Police are looking into this case as a homicide investigation. While not much is known, LFD says there is no threat to the community.
