INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Minor construction activities are set to continue throughout the spring as part of the I-69 Finish Line project that extended the interstate from southwest Indianapolis to Evansville, and upgraded portions of I-465 in southern Indianapolis.
Minor traffic disruptions are anticipated so drivers should plan accordingly to avoid delays, according to the Indiana Department of Transportation.
The I-69 extension opened in August.
A news release issued Tuesday said several entrance ramps will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday for pavement grooving. The ramps include Harding Street to I-465 eastbound, and northbound and southbound U.S. 31 to I-465 eastbound. All exit ramps will remain open.
Additionally, I-465 eastbound between U.S. 31 and I-65 on the south side of Indianapolis will be reduced to a single lane starting at 11 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday for pavement work., the release said.
Starting Sunday through early May, a traffic shift will happen on eastbound I-465 between I-69 on the southeast side and U.S. 31 on the south side, reducing the area from three lanes to two during overnight hours.
The road work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
