First-ever Flavor Fest happening in Hendricks County

DANVILLE, Ind. (WISH)–Several restaurants in Hendricks County are having their own food-fueled celebration with Flavor Fest.

The first-ever culinary event of it’s caliber in Hendricks County, Flavor Fest showcases delectable delights from local and unique restaurants across the county, no national chains allowed. The festival runs until March 17.

Best Friends Coffee & Bagels, Rockstar Pizza, Green Street Pub & Eatery, and Siam Thai are all cooking up something wonderful for Flavor Fest.

“We have such great restaurants here in the county that we wanted to come up with some kind of event to showcase them, so we talked to some of the restaurant owners and this time of year is really the time where they need a lot of help,” Josh Duke, Hendricks County communications manager, said.

All of the restaurants said they have seen an uptick in new customers from Flavor Fest.

“We’re seeing people from all over Hendricks, not just Brownsburg anymore.” Best Friends Coffee and Bagels General Manager Katrina Siedlecki said.

Right down the road from Best Friends Coffee and Bagels is Rockstar Pizza. Owner Ron Mathews says they too are reaching customers outside of Brownsburg during this month long culinary event.

“New customers have come in from Plainfield and other areas that we normally wouldn’t have probably reached, which has been really helpful,” Mathews said.

The owners of Siam Thai say events like this help out small, local businesses.

“It’s really helped business, it’s really got our name out there,” owner Michael Flora said.
