Actress Sydney Sweeney said she feels unsafe in her home due to paparazzi and overzealous fans making frequent appearances.

The 27-year-old made her feelings known during a recently published interview with Glamour in which she was named Woman of the Year by the outlet. She recalled a recent incident that occurred at a property she owns in Florida.

“[Photographers] said, ‘If you tell her to just come outside in a bikini, I’ll take pictures and then I’ll leave you alone,’” Sweeney said, adding that some critics started saying she had called the press herself to gain attention.

“Why would I call the paparazzi to take pictures of me at my own house when my baby cousins and family are there and I’m in my backyard? Why would I ever want that? I have pictures of these guys in kayaks hiding in bushes in the ocean. They got there at 8 a.m. and wouldn’t leave until 4 p.m. I should be able to be in my home and feel comfortable and safe.”

“When those photos go out, then my actual safety is at risk,” the “Euphoria” star continued. “Everyone knows where I am. Now there’s boats that go by, and I literally hear them say, ‘This is Sydney Sweeney’s house.’ It becomes a star tour in my front yard.”

The actress also addressed how fans are overly obsessed with her body, which she said isn’t all bad, in her opinion.

“That means a lot to me because I really believe in empowering others and feeling powerful with your body and embracing your sexuality,” Sweeney said. “And if you have boobs, great. Flaunt them.”

The actress previously discussed how her family handled her sex symbol status, recalling a time when her father and grandfather had to walk out upon seeing her doing a nude scene.

“My mom visited me on set at the time, so she knew the story and I talked to her a lot about it — my dad didn’t,” the actress said during a 2023 interview, as The Daily Wire previously reported. “Yeah, I didn’t prepare my dad. At all.”

“I mean, how do you bring up a conversation? And also, when I talk to my dad, it’s usually not about work. … We talk, like, father-daughter conversations. He decided he was going to watch [an episode of ‘Euphoria’], without telling me, with his parents.”
