The Brendon Park Civic Association says the proposal from New York-based SkySoar Capital in tandem with Indianapolis-based BWI Construction Management has been withdrawn. The plan called for 520 mixed-use housing units to be built in addition to some retail space.

The 35-acre plaza was built in the 1950s, and some know it for its history as the shopping epicenter of the area.

The neighborhood association says the area needs to be revitalized, but any plans should be focused on making it a retail space.
