NEW ORLEANS (WISH) — President Donald Trump is going to go to Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans on Sunday. He will be the first sitting president to go the the Super Bowl.
“It’s an honor to have the President come here,” Super Bowl XLI host committee CEO Jay Cicero said.
Cicero noted that it’s not a surprise given the strong relationship Trump has with the congressmen from Louisiana, like Mike Johnson, the Speaker of the House of Representatives and Steve Scalise, the Majority Leader of the House of Representatives
“The NFL is used to this kind of thing and they’ll have every plan in place,” Cicero said.
The Chiefs and Eagles will play in the Super Bowl on Sunday. The Chiefs are going for their third championship in a row, which would be the first time in NFL history that has happened.
It’s a rematch from two years ago, where the Chiefs won 38-35.
