Person fatally shot at apartment complex on Indy’s northwest side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A person was fatally shot Friday afternoon at an apartment complex on Indianapolis’ northwest side.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says officers were dispatched to the 5000 block of West 36th Terrace around 12:50 p.m. to investigate a person shot.

That’s at the Waterfront Terrace apartments near 34th Street and Moller Road on Indy’s northwest side.

There, they found a person suffering a gunshot wound. They were rushed to a hospital in critical condition, but later died.

Police say nearby Carl Wilde School 79 was placed on lockdown, but it has since been lifted.
