MARTINSVILLE, Ind. (WIBC) — Martinsville firefighters are looking into how a fire started at a home early Thursday.
They arrived in the 900 block of South Grant Street, which is near South Ohio Street and East Gray Street around 2 a.m.
Firefighters found the home, immediately got to work, and started to put out the fire.
When firefighters started to search inside the home, they found two adults, and they were taken out. They say one person died at the scene, and the other person was taken to a hospital, where they are in “bad shape.”
“We ask that the community keep the affected families in their thoughts during this difficult time,” Martinsville Fire Marshal Charlie Fraker said in a news release. “Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.”
