INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A stretch of northbound U.S. 31 in Westfield is shut down after a serious crash involving a semitruck, police dispatchers say.
The crash happened around 7 a.m. at 161st Street.
All northbound lanes of U.S. 31 are closed between 161st Street and 169th Street.
Police have cleared traffic from the travel lanes near 161st Street for cleanup and investigation.
Traffic is backed up almost to 136th Street.
Drivers can use Oak Ridge Road or Carey Road as alternatives to U.S. 31.
