Netanyahu Hints At Israeli Response To Iranian Missile Attack

Last Updated 1 week by Amnon J. Jobi | Amnon Front Page

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded to Iran’s ballistic missile attack on Tuesday night by saying that they would pay dearly for their actions.

Netanyahu’s words, delivered to the Israeli people in Hebrew, came after Iran fired approximately 180 ballistic missiles into Israel, most of which were shot down or landed in areas where they caused minimal damage.

“This evening, Iran made a big mistake – and it will pay for it,” he said. “The regime in Tehran does not understand our determination to defend ourselves and to exact a price from our enemies.”

Israel vowed that there would be a “significant response” to Iran and the U.S. said that Iran’s attack was result in “severe consequences” for the Islamic regime.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Israel warned Iran before the attack that if any of its missiles landed inside Israeli territory — regardless of whether they caused damage or there were any casualties — that it would respond by either destroying Iran’s oil facilities or its nuclear program.

Netanyahu said that Israel’s enemies seriously underestimated the lengths to which it would go to defend its people, something he said that numerous top Hezbollah and Hamas leaders did not understand before Israel terminated them from the battlefield.

“Apparently, there are those in Tehran who do not understand this either,” he said. “They will.”

“We will keep to the rule we have determined: Whoever attacks us – we attack them,” he continued. “This is true wherever we fight the axis of evil. It is true in Judea and Samaria. It is true in Gaza, Lebanon, Yemen, and Syria – and it is also true in Iran. We are fighting the axis of evil everywhere, including in southern Lebanon and Gaza, where our heroic soldiers are active.”

He called on the world to unite to defeat the Islamic regime in Iran, which is the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism.

Netanyahu addressed the Iranian people in a speech on Monday in which he indicated that Israel would respond if attacked by Iran.

In the speech, Netanyahu said that the Islamic regime would not be around much longer.

“When Iran is finally free, and that moment will come a lot sooner than people think – everything will be different,” he said.
