Marcus’ 4 a.m. Tuesday forecast
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Up and down temperatures with several precipitation chances highlight an active extended forecast.
This morning:
We’re keeping an eye out for a few patchy areas of fog this morning. Otherwise, we’re looking at mostly cloudy skies with cooler temperatures this morning.

Tuesday:
Clouds will gradually decrease heading into the late morning and afternoon hours. Look for mostly sunny, dry, and colder conditions for the afternoon. High temperatures will be into the upper 30s and lower 40s off of a north wind later today.

Tuesday night:
Quiet weather will persist heading into the evening hours. Look for clouds to increase as we head into the overnight hours. Lowe’s will fall to the upper 20s and lower 30s.

Wednesday:
A warm front will push through the area starting Wednesday. Right now, the morning hours should be dry with mainly cloudy conditions. Precipitation should hold off until the afternoon hours. There is a brief window and possibility of some light freezing drizzle for the first few hours of this event. Impacts should be minimal thanks to a warmer ground, but a light glazing of ice can’t be ruled out, especially for some of our northern counties for early Wednesday afternoon.

Rain will be the primary feature for the rest of your Wednesday afternoon and evening. Scattered showers will likely continue into the overnight hours with the potential of a few rumbles of thunder at times.
Total rainfall looks to be anywhere between a half an inch to an inch across central Indiana.
Meanwhile, temperatures will hold pretty steady for much of the afternoon, hovering into the middle 30s too late in the day. We likely won’t reach our high temperature in there until very late Wednesday night when we warm closer to 40°.

Thursday:
A few lingering showers will be possible as the cold front moves through on Thursday morning. The rest of the day will be cloudy with falling temperatures through the day.
7 day forecast:
Friday looks reasonable with highs in the upper 30s with partly cloudy skies. Another system moving in for the start of the weekend will bring widespread showers to the area on Saturday with high temperatures near 50°. We will see another shot of cooler temperatures moving in for Sunday and Monday of next week.

There are hints of more action coming our way next week with several storm systems and potentially even colder temperatures moving in for the middle and end of next week.
