INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A much cooler Tuesday was our story as high temperatures were up to 25-30 degrees lower than Monday’s.
We’re gearing towards an active Wednesday with showers, freezing rain potential, and the possibility of thunder.
Tuesday night: Cloud cover increases into tonight with lows falling into the upper 20s to low 30s.

Wednesday: We’ll start our day off dry before precipitation slides in closer to the lunch hour. There is potential for some freezing rain to get in the mix across central Indiana, but the greater prolonged threat for this will be in northern Indiana. Freezing rain will slowly shift northward as we head into Wednesday night. As for central Indiana, it will be rainy at times with slowly rising temperatures Wednesday afternoon and night with the possibility of a few rumbles of thunder.

There is potential for up to a tenth of an inch of ice or more in the northern third of Indiana. This will cause travel issues, so be sure to use extra caution. As of now, a Winter Weather Advisory is in place for Benton county from 1 PM Wednesday until 7 AM Thursday due to light ice accumulation potential. There is a good chance more of northern Indiana gets in on these advisories.

Highs will occur late in the day with numbers peaking in the mid to upper 30s.

Thursday: Some showers may linger into the first half of Thursday. We’re talking a warmer day with highs pushing into the upper 40s to low 50s by early afternoon.

7-Day Forecast: Forecast stays active into the weekend with another system set to roll in. There is a chance for a mix of rain, freezing rain, and snow Friday night into Saturday morning. Saturday is likely a rainy day at times with highs in the upper 40s to low 50s. Temperatures then drop back down into the upper 30s by Sunday.
