INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — In a certain sign that spring is – eventually – on the way, an annual running ritual is about to begin. The 500 Festival’s first ‘Miler’ run of 2025 happens Saturday, February 8th.

The 3-Miler is the first in a three-run series, sponsored by OrthoIndy. It’s followed by the 6-Miler in March and the 10-Miler in April. The traditional goal of the trio is to serve as training runs for the 500 Festival Mini-Marathon, but organizers are quick to point out you do not need to run the Mini to enjoy the Milers.

The 3-Miler starts and ends at Fowling Warehouse on Brookside Avenue. From there, runners, walkers, and those on wheels wind their way across 10th Street, down East Street, across New York Street, then back up to the Warehouse through College and Massachusetts Avenues.

A Miler Expo pre-race happens inside Fowling Warehouse. Organizers say it will feature vendors, OrthoIndy and other partners sharing tips on staying healthy, and a visit from Indiana Pacer mascot Boomer.

If you plan to travel through the area Saturday morning, expect several road closures on Brookside Avenue through noon.

Online single-race registration for the 3-Miler is closed, but you can still sign up for the whole series online. It’s $75 in advance or $85 on race day and includes entry to all three events, a long-sleeved participant shirt, and a finisher’s medal.

The 6-Miler steps off March 8th, and the 10-Miler does so on April 5th – all from Fowling Warehouse.
