GREENWOOD, Ind. (WISH) — A man was in police custody Monday morning after another man was found shot at a house in Greenwood, police say.

Greenwood Assistant Chief Matt Fillenwarth told News 8 the shooting happened around 3 a.m. at a home on Dietz Drive. That street is in a neighborhood near East Main Street and Graham Road.

Officers were called to the area and found a man shot multiple times. He was taken to a hospital for treatment. Fillenwarth said around 8:30 a.m. the victim was in surgery.

A suspect was taken into custody shortly after the shooting.

It was unclear what led up to the shooting, how the men knew each other, or if the men lived at the home where the shooting took place.
