Man in critical condition after northeast side shooting; suspect search underway

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is looking for the person who shot a man late Monday night at a gas station on the city’s northeast side.

Investigators tell News 8 it happened around 11:20 p.m. at the Shell gas station near 34th Street and North Emerson Avenue.

According to police, the suspect walked up to the victim while he was sitting in a vehicle and opened fire. Officers say the man tried to drive away but crashed into a nearby retention wall.

Authorites say the victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

IMPD used both K-9 units and a drone to search the area, but so far, no arrests have been made.

At this time, investigators have not said what may have led to the shooting.
