INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A 19-year-old man faces murder charges after he was arrested for his role in a Wednesday evening homicide on Indy’s near-north side.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says 18-year-old Jaiden Gardfrey was found dead at a home in the 900 block of West 32nd Street around 4:40 p.m. Wednesday.
That’s in residential housing area near I-65 and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street.
IMPD previously told News 8 some sort of disturbance led up to the shooting. IMPD Capt. Shane Foley also reported Gardfrey was also shot at a different location, but sought help at the house where officers found his body.
After speaking with multiple witnesses, investigators named Izayah Holland, 19, a suspect. He was arrested by IMPD Violent Crimes Unit and SWAT officers on Thursday.
IMPD didn’t say if Holland and Gardfrey knew each other or what caused the fight.
