INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Local businesses hosted guests in town for the iconic Billy Joel and Sting concert on Saturday night.

The “One Night Only” concert brings together two of the most decorated musicians on stage at Lucas Oil Stadium. Whistle Stop Inn, just a stone’s throw away from the stadium, started preparing for the big night over a month ago.

“We actually do an event menu, so it’s a different menu than what we normally have,” owner Rob Strong said. “It keeps our kitchen, being able to keep up with the crowd that’s coming in and just staff for it.”

Hours before Indy welcomed the two big names, Strong welcomed the fans filling in.

“With the WWE last weekend, and then that kind of gives us a good preparation and to get ready for it,” Strong said.

Not only does the night comes after last week’s record breaking Royal Rumble, but on the heels of another huge tourism year for the city.

The city raked in nearly $6 billion from evens in 2024, dozens of them being from music events at Lucas Oil Stadium. They’re hoping to top those records in 2025, with the Big Ten championship around the corner.

That’s music to Strong’s ears.

“It’s amazing, right across the street,” Strong said. “We are the closest bar to Lucas Oil Stadium, and it’s always amazing anytime there’s any of it over there. We love it.”
