Italian motorsport school to open in Indianapolis, first location in U.S.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Italian-based Motorsport Technical School is going to open their first U.S. location in Indianapolis. The school will guide aspiring motorsport professionals to careers that carry the sport on their shoulders.

The woman-owned and woman-founded MTS school is by Eugenia Capanna, a professional driver and team manager. It will run students through hands-on courses that teaches them skills to excel as mechanics, data technicians, and track engineers.

MTS students will be able to participate in a track day with a Formula 4 car to get real-world experience of being on a professional team.

“We’re thrilled to bring MTS’s expertise to the United States, and Indianapolis is the perfect location for our first U.S. facility,” Capanna said. “This city has an unmatched passion for motorsport, and a high demand for skilled mechanics and engineers. We have a proven track record of placing our students with teams globally, and are excited to continue this success in the United States.”

MTS says 80% of their graduates work in racing teams – F1, MotoGP, and IndyCar – around the world. Industry professionals teach students both in class and on the track with real racecars.

Courses will begin in May, with a second round of classes starting in August. A mandatory selection process is in place as limited spots are available, both for the classes and the selection process.
