The Israel Defense Forces have killed a Rafah commander for Hamas who was instrumental in planning the murderous October 7 massacre of more than 1,200 Israelis.

“In a joint operation by the IDF and Shin Bet forces, the fighters of the 401st Brigade identified a number of terrorist squads using drones, the forces directed Air Force aircraft that eliminated the terrorists. In the attack, the commander of the ‘Tel Sultan’ battalion, Mahmoud Hamdan, and three other company commanders from the battalion were killed,” the IDF tweeted.

The IDF added: “In the attack and other attacks, the chain of command of the Tel Sultan battalion was eliminated, as well as dozens of other terrorists from the battalion. The commander of the ‘Tel Sultan’ battalion, Mahmoud Hamdan, took a significant part in planning the raid into Israel on October 7 and promoted the preparation plan of the Rafah Brigade before the entry of IDF forces into the area. In addition, he initiated, led and planned dozens of terrorist plots against the IDF forces and the State of Israel.”

On Sunday, famed British author Chris Ryan issued an X thread in which he discussed just one incident from the massacre (of the many he saw on video footage) indicating how barbaric the massacre was. He wrote:

Source: Hamas head cam/chest cam and mobile phone video footage. Hamas terrorists took hours of footage during the slaughter of 7th October. I can’t, nor want to describe the horror of every single piece of footage that I saw. I hope you’ll understand the depth of depravity from this example because I won’t speak about any others, however, I will say that the violence and depravity I witnessed was beyond all comprehension.

What I saw: 3 Hamas terrorists entered a room, two young girls (maybe 12, maybe younger) hiding under a table protecting their puppies. The terrorists had a very calm and nonchalant open conversation about who or what was to be killed first as if they were picking something out in a supermarket.

A decision was made by the terrorists to execute the little girl, they murder her by execution, then they realise that the other little girl who they thought was already dead was injured but still alive, then a debate happens on whether they execute her or the puppies first. Then they murder her by execution and the puppies.

What I felt:
Numb, angry that I wasn’t there to stop them.
What I think:
I think about the fear those girls went through before their murder and know that I will see that scene for some time to come.

The Biden administration repeatedly pressured Israel to stay out of Rafah, the final stronghold of Hamas in Israel’s war to exterminate the terror group. Vice President Kamala Harris said during a March interview with ABC News that she and the president believed military action in Rafah to be a “huge mistake.”

“We have been clear in multiple conversations and in every way that any major military operation in Rafah would be a huge mistake,” Harris said.

“I have studied the maps. There’s nowhere for those folks to go,” she continued, referring to civilians moved into Rafah as the IDF fought Hamas in other parts of the enclave. “We’ve been very clear that it would be a mistake to move into Rafah with any type of military operation.”
