Gas station sells winning ticket for $42.5 million Hoosier Lotto jackpot

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A small city in Indiana was buzzing with excitement Thursday after a ticket for the fourth-largest Hoosier Lotto jackpot in the game’s history was sold in Tell City for Wednesday’s drawing.

The jackpot was $42.5 million.

The winning ticket was purchased at On the Fly gas station at 1448 12th St. in Tell City. The lucky ticket holder matched all six numbers drawn: 10, 16, 24, 33, 39 and 46. The odds for getting all six numbers is 1 in 9,366,819.

The largest Hoosier Lotto jackpot win happened Nov. 7, 2007, when the prize reached $54.5 million.

More recently, a winning ticket was sold on Dec. 6, 2023, with a jackpot of $44 million. The 2023 winning ticket was purchased at Lucky’s Mart in Speedway.

The jackpot for Saturday’s 11 p.m. drawing drops to $1 million. Players must be 18 or older.
