Fatal fire in Mooresville, one person dead

MOORSEVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — One person is dead from a fire of a “hastily built structure” outside of Mooresville, Indiana.

The Mooresville Metropolitan Police Department reported the death Feb. 1. They said the fire department responded just after 1:37 a.m. to a fire in the tree line near State Road 42 and White Lick Creek.

A hastily build structure, believed to be a homeless encampment, was fully engulfed in flames. Once firefighters put the blaze out, they discovered that there was at least one person inside who had died.

The victim has not been identified.
