DOJ Considers Charging 200 More People Related to January 6 as Trump’s Second Term Nears

Federal prosecutors are considering filing charges against up to 200 more individuals in connection to the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol, according to the latest data from the U.S. Justice Department released on Monday.

The 200 figure includes about 60 individuals who allegedly assaulted or resisted law enforcement officers during the Capitol riot.

Other News:   Far-Left Groups Seek to Use 14th Amendment to Block Trump from 2024 Ballot

So far, more than 1,500 individuals have been hit with federal charges in connection to Jan. 6.

The latest figures were released about 2 weeks before President-elect Trump takes office for a second term. Speculation has been rising about how Jan. 6 cases will play out after Trump returns to office.

Other News:   RFK Jr. comes well short of winning Libertarian Party's nomination

Trump recently signaled that he would consider pardons for Jan. 6 defendants but it unclear how many.
