Marcus’ 4 a.m. Tuesday forecast
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Parts of southern Indiana are under a winter weather advisory through Wednesday.
This morning:
A cold weather advisory is in effect until 9 AM this morning. Wind chills have already fallen well below zero and numbers could get as low as 15 below zero by mid-morning.

We also have a weak upper-level disturbance moving through, bringing in some light snow showers this morning. Only minor accumulations are expected, but they could be enough to slick up the roads abit for the early morning hours.

Tuesday:
Dry conditions are expected with mostly cloudy skies for much of the day. Temperatures will remain well below average only topping out into the middle teens this afternoon.

Snow chances tonight/Wednesday:
Another snow system will work through the Midwest starting tonight. The latest projections has much of the snow missing is central and northern Indiana. Area is along in south of I 70 could see some light snow with heavier snow accumulation expected closer to the Ohio river and south into Kentucky.

Light snow showers will continue into early Wednesday morning for the south third of the state. We could see some of that snow sneak as far north as the Indy metro area for the Wednesday morning drive but again accumulations will be late if any around Indianapolis.


Expect mostly cloudy skies for our Wednesday with high is returning to the lower 20s.
Thursday:
A quick-hitting upper-level wave moves through Wednesday night into Thursday morning, squeezing out light snow showers that will likely be widespread across the state. Much of the state should pick up. A half an inch to an inch of snowfall by Thursday morning.


In the wake of the midweek system, another shot of bitterly cold temperatures will settle in for Thursday. Once the morning, snow showers move out look for mostly cloudy skies and highs into the low 20s. Overnight low Thursday night will fall back to the single digits and wind chills will fall well below zero.

7 day forecast:
A gradual warming trend will begin starting Friday and into the weekend. We will also look for quiet weather conditions for the next several days. I will return to the upper 20s for Friday Lower 30s for Saturday and back to near normal levels Sunday with highs into the lower 40s. Long-term pattern as we head into the last week of February and the first week of March Temperatures finally look to be warming to above-average levels.
