INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Butler University men’s basketball has announced the addition of another player to its roster for the upcoming season.

Former Drexel guard Yame Butler has signed an athletic aid agreement to join the Bulldogs for the 2025-26 season. It will be his final season of eligibility.

Butler averaged 13.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game last season with the Dragons.

He was second on the team in scoring last year behind Drexel guard Kobe MaGee, who averaged 14.0 points per game.

“Yame brings both experience and physicality to our program,” Butler head coach Thad Matta said in a press release. “He has the ability and willingness to guard multiple positions and rebound. Offensively, he is aggressive in getting downhill to both score at the rim and get to the free throw line. Yame will be impactful for us both on the court and in the locker room, and we’re excited to get him on campus.”

Butler played the last three seasons at Drexel. Prior to that, he played a season at Fordham.

Butler is the second transfer who has been officially added to the Bulldogs’ roster. The Bulldogs announced earlier this month that former Purdue Fort Wayne guard Jalen Jackson was joining the program.
