Man shoots at bar employee after argument
FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) — Officers with the Fishers Police Department on Saturday arrested a Brazil man for shooting at a bartender.
Just before 3:40 a.m. Saturday, Fishers officers responded to the 11600 block of Exit 5 Parkway on a report of a vehicle that had just been shot at. The victim told officers that a white Ford F-150 driven by a male fired shots and was still eastbound on 116th Street. Officers found the F-150 traveling east and conducted a traffic stop.
The suspect, Ronald Leach, of Brazil, Indiana, was taken into custody without incident.
According to the victim, an incident occurred before this time at a local bar. The patron (Leach) was asked to leave the bar. At some point, Leach returned and argued with an employee over the whereabouts of his driver’s license. The victim, an employee of the bar, left work and observed Leach’s vehicle in a turn lane at a stop light.
The employee drove in the opposite direction, and was shot near the intersection of 116th Street and Exit 5 Parkway. The victim was not injured, but there was damage to the rear driver’s side of his vehicle.
According to investigators, Leach showed signs of intoxication, and a handgun was found in plain view in his vehicle, which was collected as evidence.
Leach was taken to the Hamilton County Jail, where he is being preliminarily charged with criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, pointing a firearm at another, and operating a vehicle while intoxicated and has prior convictions.
