EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — A man and woman found themselves behind bars after investigators in Evansville saw them pick up packages of Cheetos bags filled with meth from a mailing facility.

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office says the arrest happened Wednesday.

Detectives with the Evansville-Vanderburgh County Drug Task Force received word about two suspicious packages arriving at a parcel delivery facility that employees believed contained drugs.

When detectives arrived, they found around 40 pounds of suspected meth hidden inside Cheetos bags.

The packages were addressed to a house in the 1800 block of Ridgeway Avenue. That’s in a neighborhood on Evansville’s southeast side just east of U.S. 41.

Detectives stayed at the facility for surveillance. Eventually, two people arrived and picked up the packages, leaving the facility in a white van. Officers identified the pair as Goldie Rodney Junior Flenor, 36, and Natasha Garner, 36, both of Los Angeles, California.

Local law enforcement, in marked vehicles, tried to pull Flenor and Garner over, but they attempted to flee the scene. The suspects’ vehicle then hit a marked sheriff’s office SUV, and the two were taken into custody.

The sheriff’s office says a federal complaint was filed against the pair for conspiracy to distribute meth.

They were taken to the Henderson County Detention Center in Kentucky, but were not listed as inmates as of Thursday.
